Very old news. Sadly this uses the same flawed motors from India, AFAIK. If the production moves elsewhere, i'll be interested again.

Until then, have fun.

So the 401s made in India, the 701 made in Austria??

I'm talking about engine assembly. Yes, the quality and place of assembly are not unrelated. Surprise!

However, the even sadder news is that even the Austrian 701 is experiencing bad failure rates. The old 690 design and manufacturing (empirically speaking) had significantly better street reliability credentials. Yes, even with taking into account the rocker arms which turned out to be a service interval item due to bearing play/scoring (frequently but not in all cases).

At least the flagships are still mechanically dependable.
This is coming from a guy who owned the 1st gen USDM 690 SMC, 2nd gen LC8 as a 990 SMR and currently a modified 3rd gen LC8 in my 1290 "SMR" trim.

Really?
Somewhere in India, “Harley Davidson manufactured in USA?? I’m sorry, I don’t buy crappy stuff from USA, no!”

+1 for the interesting headlight/instrument cluster.

-1 for the cheezy low-spec parts/build I see on the low-budget Ktm 390D.

Except not at all. People want to buy shitty American HD crap around the world, including India.

redtail

only ones and zeroes
Not the most attractive Husky I've ever seen, looks like they drug a magnet through the parts bin and stuck a couple of wheels on it.
