Not good at all :wow

Can you imagine if this was a few hundred miles north?

Patricia -- the strongest hurricane ever recorded
According to the National Weather Service, Hurricane Patricia gained unprecedented strength
overnight as it headed toward Puerto Vallarta, where its forecast to make land fall by Friday evening.

The storm’s sustaining winds are blasting at about 200 mph with gusts at nearly 250 mph,

After the storm comes ashore, it is expected to rapidly weaken. However, it will produce substantial rain
throughout central Mexico’s interior and is forecast to feed into a serious rainfall event in central and eastern Texas.

Katrina will look like a case of the sprinkles according to the forecasts I've seen.
At least CNN will have something other than elections and plane crashes to obsess about.

We've heard those kinds of titles before.

It seems that the announcers (race, news, etc) who are among the most successful are also the ones who over-state just about everything.

Hope the people I met in Yelapa this past spring survive.

5 miles South of Puerto Vallarta; a gorgeous place with no autos, accessed by boat only.

Interestingly the weather forecasts for Yelapa don't predict any wind above 80mph which is strange.

When we were there a 4 hour thunderstorm came through and turned the river into a torrent; this one will surely take out the foot bridges.

^^+1 :laughing

I'd be really excited about a big kickass hurricane if I didn't know about the misery that comes with it. I'm always torn on natural disasters, they're really effin cool and sad at the same time. Photos are stunning.

On a Cruise that was going around a Pacific side Hurricane. The huge swells as far as the eye could see, All evenly spaced and same size very machine like created. The Ship trying to hit them to minimize ship rolling. The rear of the ship had a dip and wipe motion. One could barely walk without holding on to a rail.
The other observation was when the Ship was in the aftermath of the Hurricane. In the path the hurricane was in hours ago. The Ocean was all sudsy like a bubble bath. The Humidity and heat magnitudes higher then same location would have if it didn't just have a Hurricane pass through. Going out was like a Sauna steam room. The Ocean having the odd sound of ship cutting through a bubble bath.

131 mph winds now predicted in Yelapa tonight; South Southeast so maybe the hills will protect my friend's Palapa which is located 1/2 way down the north side hill that makes up the Bay.

My family went through Andrew and it was as terrifying as you might imagine.
