How to fight boldness?

doesn't like crashing
I find that as I get into middle-agedness, I'm starting to take dumber risks than I used to as a young man. It started with racing motorcycles, then getting into mountain bikes, and now I've started sometimes going to sleep without brushing my teeth. I'm afraid that this might have a negative effect on my long-term health and well-being, but I can't help but be drawn to such activities. How do you fight this urge to engage in risky activities, to not be so... bold?

I've known some motorcyclists that were able to build the habit of turning the wick down by attaching a picture of their kids to the top triple.

strange, I'm going the other way. I started by telling myself that "I need to pick up my daughter from school" and now I'm at, "I need to go to work tomorrow"

Artificial constraints?

- Race 250s instead of 600s
- Ride dirt instead of street
- Ride supermotos instead of sprotbiles on the street
- Get a waterpik

I've become far more conservative, as I've observed how much longer it takes to heal in middle age. Get into a big wreck at 35+ and it seems likely you may be in pain for the rest of your life. no thanks.

I have a similar outlook. Still own a sportbike but it’s just for cruising

James Taylor on repeat should help.

:rofl

I have maintained a fair sense of risk. Meaning I limit it to what my brain and body know. I am smarter about it I think, but I still ride fast at times. I was never a balls out street rider thanks to the early racing stuff. Made the street seem crazy stupid place to go balls out.

Your trying new stuff so a learning curve can provide more injury opportunities.

Mecurial said crashing at 35+... how about 60+.

Can't afford to fall off.. bouncing is long gone! :laughing
