I find that as I get older, I keep growing. The problem is, I'm not getting taller, I'm getting wider.

How do you fight bigness?

Intermiittent Fasting worked for me.

Down 80lbs. I spent the last 20 years of my life in the Obese category, I'm 5lbs away from being Normal in the BMI.

I don't work out, aside from the twice daily walks with the dog, and occasional hikes and paddleboarding. I don't watch what I eat. The only rules is for 16 hours (at least) every day, no food goes in my mouth.

Also, kicked Type 2 diabetes in the teeth. I used to be insulin-dependent, and taking Glipizide. I'm no longer on insulin or any other diabetic meds. My last A1C two months ago was 5.1.

Yep, with 16 hrs of fasting per day I went from 225 to 195 which seems to be my new normal weight for the past 2 years no matter what I do. I’ve since relaxed the fasting to 14 hrs per day.

We got a run on these threads... :laughing

Been fighting bigness for almost 18 months. Before that I accepted it.
I was still working out but I think the booze after work led to being weak at night.

Started by being smarter eating wise.
Then started to try not to eat anything after 7pm.
The Covid shifted things. No more bar. So I go home and work out most nights. Been more solid on eating brekkie and then lunch and skipping dinner. Less booze , but still drinking some most nights.

Swimming has been the main reason of later. Married that to the eating habits and even when not losing weight the bigness is going to the right places.

Boring but healthy food.

Lunch today.. blah.. oops wrong thread.

Don’t drink booze, watch out for sugar, it’s everywhere.

Booze is my sugar of choice. Avoid everything else.

One drink a night and add a beer to that on the weekends thanks to the SIP.

Much less than the 3 drinks a night before and the three shots of tequilla and 2 beers on Fridays.. my wild day! :loco

I weigh less now than I did in high school with more muscle and better cardiovascular capacity

What? In high school you were with more muscle and better cardiovascular capacity? I think it takes men more than 20 years to reach their peak potential. Where have you gone wrong?
