How to email 'embedded' pdf/word documents

I would like to send an email in similar format as some of the spam/advertising emails one typically receives. Kinda looks like a news paper article but it is embedded in the actual email and not an attachment. Is this something one can do with pdf or word and then embed into an email? I need to do this for a newsletter type project.

Its all html, you cannot directly display pdf/word documents.

Copy/paste the .pdf file to a MSWord document. Then save as HTML. Had to do this recently, as some folks couldn't receive an embeded road map in .pdf form.
