how-to become a moderator

Cute! 
Ravi - you are hereby dubbed Moderator of HowTo until you're dead or I find someone better.
For ALL the moderators out there (pretty much all of you at this time) most of your responsibilities can be handled at the bottom right of each thread -- the drop down list has options you may need to perform on threads... moving them, closing them, sticking them, etc. If we get to a point where we actually want to start banning by IP or username or stuff like that there is a trick that I will show you. Likewise if we created moderated threads (no free posts - everything must be approved).
Also, I have created a Moderator forum in which we can have discussions about the site w/o alerting every pair of eyeballs that visits (much more effective than email).

Where is this? I don't see it.
Maybe I'm too dumb to be a mod.

Come on now - if you could see the Control Panel for this thing you'd have a WHOLE lot more respect for Fred and the gang at SBN! There is sooooooooo much to configure!! I figured it out, though! Geez!
