Back For More
This has been the best summer of riding I've had since leaving the Bay Area six years ago. I've ridden 9.5k and hope to get in another 2k.

You?

Wait for the poll, bastids. :twofinger

Adam, y u so evil?

My summer was awesome. I went to death Valley, trinity Alps tour, far eastern Oregon through ca/nv, tons of 300-400 mile Sunday rides. Lots of big bike friendly dirt and isolated locales. Still more fun stuff planned. :ride

It was pretty sweet, 5 days riding around your beautiful state of Oregon. Also hit up a couple mountain passes in the Sierras. And the best time of the year is just starting!:ride

Been commuting on my bike like crazy, but not enough fun trips and twisties. However, having just moved to the delta it was made up for by boats and jetskis.

Sold both my bikes and moved to AZ for a year, four months ago.
This is by far the longest I have not rode a motorcycle since summer of 99'
What I realized is that I don't miss riding motorcycles as much as I miss riding my favorite roads and trails with the people I usually ride.
In other words, I could care less of having a bike here. Its too hot and the riding is shit compared to the riding heaven that Bay Area anyway. You can't even lanesplit so there is not even any practical sense to it.
I can't wait to be back, it will be a long 8 more months fer sure.

I am not weird, you are.
Commute daily 40 miles.
Dirt on the weekends at Rock Creek, Forrest Hill (China Wall) Stampede and just got back from Mammoth.
Three track days and three more on the way.
Hoping to get a Tahoe overnight ride in.

Too much lean angle...
I put everything in storage, bought a one-way ticket to Ireland, bought a motorcycle there and went on a 5-week tour of Europe.

First summer of riding street, it was awesome. My wife and I both have weekdays off so we had the roads to our selves pretty much. Awesome summer

Well, I rode to chemo for 6 weeks, then to work every day. Then I rode to radiation everyday and then to work. Then I rode tp work every night until my surgery about 5 weeks ago. I rode my bike the first day after surgery (about 11 hours after I got home, really pissed off my wife), and i try to ride every day now, and go back to work Oct 1st .

Not nearly enough. But such is the life of a new(ish) parent.

Yep. Daughter being born in February has severely cut into my riding time. Not that I care too much, mind you. Last year was pretty handicapped as well with taking care of preggowife, I only got one overnight trip squeezed in (Fortuna Spring Rally). I was steadily at 20-25k/yr previous to that, last year 14k, this year so far... just over 5k.

Alright, I know I just said I didn't care too much, but damn that's depressing :(

I feel ya. But more depressing than not riding as much as I'd like, would be not seeing my daughter enough. She just turned 1 and she's a blast to hang out with.

Starting next year I want to work out a schedule with the lady so we can both enjoy our free time. I'm thinking 2 weekends a month I'll ride full days, a few overnighters and one longer trip. Thinking 4-5 days for the longer trip. Of course I'd have to be flexible and cognizant of baby/life obligations.

No epic adventures yet this year, just day trips.

Would be nice to find some like-minded souls for a bit of moto camping.
