that bike is tiny and rossi is not. hes reaching the throttle just fine.

Yeah... that's not really Rossi's style. I'm pretty sure he was trying to match Jorge's throttle position through that turn to see if he could replicate the result. It didn't work... Jorge never gets off the bike like that. I'm pretty sure that was what the announcers were saying while they showed a slow-mo of him going through this turn.
