How dangerous does Highway 9 need to be

So a buddy and I are heading up 9 and 35 to mountain bike at about 5 pm today and a group of bikes are heading down 9- a couple Aprilia's and a R6 in tow and THE MORON on his Aprilia.

As we come around a BLIND left hander only to see a COMPLETE MORON PASSING on the DOUBLE YELLOW on his Aprilia to keep up with his buddies.

Great Job STUPID :finger you almost killed a half dozen people there.

He basically split a Jeep Cherokee and another SUV on the DY in a blind turn

He must want some press time.

#1 reason I don't go up there at all anymore. Sounds like homeboy will be a victim of his own stupidity sooner than later. Here's to hoping he doesn't kill anybody when the shit inevitably comes down.

Welcome N00B!! :twofinger.

Dude, that's just the way it is. I hate that road, and it's been that way for a loooooooooooong time.

almost as dangerous as going around a blind corner at the speed limit and almost asspacking a bicyclist riding in the middle of the lane..

If this surprises you, you've got a long way to go and a lot to learn.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

It's a public road not a race track, so idiots don't get meat balled. they just ride till they kill themselves of someone else.

ride accordingly.

It's not just noobs that fuck up on that road. Many very skilled riders crash or die or get maimed as well. You may know your own limits but you'll never know the limits of the road. You can ride as slow and carefully as you want but there is not a goddamn thing you can do about gravel, ice, oil, deer, squirrels, blown DY big rigs, etc. Accept those factors or don't ride there at all.

TBH if (when?) this happens to me, I will crawl my way out from under the wreckage, roll over the broken bicyclist, and punch him in the face until the ambulance arrives.

HWY 9 road bicyclists are pretty astoundingly stupid.

If we are talking about street survival, "skilled" doesn't really mean much. Knowing the potential hazards and scenarios that could go bad in an instant does -- street wise. You could have a very experienced street rider throwing all cautions to the wind, but that's unusual. We all take chances, but try to gamble when and where you have better odds. Passing around a blind isn't.

Its only as dangerous as you want it to be. Passing on or over the DY is commonplace even among the most experienced riders. Ride at a pace and lines that your comfortable with, so when you see them coming straight at you over the DY, you can get out of their way.
