I found this 96 ktm 360 for 1300 obo. Anything especially good or bad about these. It looks pretty clean in the pics but that can all change in person as we all know. Says it runs great and reg is current till next year. My buddy is thinking about getting a dirtbike and the 300 seems like a great all around size.maybe offer $1000??? What's barf got to say?

I had a '97 360, one of the best dirt bikes I ever owned!
Fast, and great handling. Thing was a beast on the street though..
I think there's some changes between the '96 and '97, check KTMTalk.

The main issue you'll have is this: the 360 was only produced for two years; the '96 used a different stroke than the '97 so they are both a single production year bike. Some of the standard parts swap and are easy but the main, internal ones don't and are becoming very hard to find.....

It's getting into the years where you'll need to be a good bit more resourceful finding parts, but if it were reasonably well cared for and I liked it, I'd go for it. If you're just looking for an inexpensive ride, I'd probably try to find a 96+ yz250 as part availability/interchangeability will be solid.
