Want to share these here as it's own thread! I went to Laguna Seca and Thunderhill within a month of each other and so far I've created a couple Hot Lap with Telemetry videos from each visit.

Wish I had enough money to do this every damn day, but who here doesn't? :)

Check 'em out:

That's awesome!

I do the same thing with my triumph with a single OBD2 plug and my iphone. It's fun to play around with technology and dress up the track day videos.

videos look great.

what r u using for GPS data? are the throttle, brake, and lean angle just derived values from GPS? or do u have other sensors as well?

My lines would probably be a lot worse. But I'd imagine most of it I'd just the camera angle.

No, it's not the angle of the dangle here.

He looks good out there, but if he found an apex or two, a few turn points, and stopped 'feeling' his way around the track I imagine he could drop to sub 2:00 quickly. I'm no expert, but I know without my brake, turn, and exit points I was riding the same times.

I use the GMOS from SpeedAngle.com for all data collection. It comes with a G-Force sensor that tracks the braking and throttle (not terribly accurate) and it also tracks the lean angle with that sensor. It also comes with a GPS in the unit and an antenna to strengthen the signal and that is how it tracks speed and location which it uses to create track maps or road maps.

It's an awesome unit and the best one for the price point. Highly recommend it!

Definitely agree. I need to get used to hitting apexes with the bike's tires instead of my body. It is proving to be a huge obstacle for me and I need to concentrate more on overcoming it.

Keith Code is a total dick, but he knows how to make you faster. Period. http://www.superbikeschool.com

He has taught some of the best, including me. Not that I'm near the best, but I have been taught by him is all, and I'm now much faster than you. :p

You look good out there, invest in the next step.

Oh, I know all about Keith Code...and more recently Simon Crafar from MotoVudu.com whom I think makes the most up-to-date and on-point instructional DVD of our time. Granted, taking a physical school is definitely the next step. But, doing my own research through the avenues that they provide...I enjoy Nick Ianetsch and Ken Hill's online advice the most...and I like MotoVudu the best for an instructional DVD. I have Twist of the Wrist I and II and they are a bit dated and full of cheese.

Back to your original point. If I were to invest in the next step (which I'm assuming is real life school/training) I would attend YCRS even though they moved away from the best, I mean WEST coast. :thumbup

If you're up on Ken and Nick... you might want to look into a Rickdiculous Racing event when cash allows ;)

Ken is the bees knees. Code's most recent DVD was pretty good, but I've not attended CSBS

edit: orrrrrrrrrrrr get a few sessions in with me/someone like me :D
