I recently purchased an Arris SB 8200 modem to replace my ISP supplied modem / router in an effort to save a bit of money on rental fees. My BIL works for Google and I asked him for a hookup on a Nest router. I did not bother to check how many ethernet ports it has. Well it's got one and I need more. I currently have my PS4 and desktop plugged into my modem / router.

Will something like this https://www.amazon.com/D-link-8-Por...EXD49QRC4E98&refRID=FEK3N835EXD49QRC4E98&th=1

allow me to use the Nest router that I bought by plugging into it and expanding the number of ports to use?

Yes that should do the job. The downside of that vs. a router with more ports is adding to the rat's nest of wires.

Have you considering making a billion weird cable management thingies with a 3D printer? If you have, I have a thread for you.
