Hit while riding home from work.

I was cruising on highway 80 east near richmond, got cutoff/sideswiped by a silver suv around 630pm yesterday. I was going 65, he hit me so hard he bent my header and knocked a hole in my engine... I tried to avoid him, but got slammed anyways. Front end was tossed to the left, initiating a lowside slide, I fell off the bike and rolled/slid/bounced for a while. Dislocated the right shoulder and tore up my left knee... I am grateful to have been wearing proper gear. My new jacket, helmet, and gloves are all toast.

Any witnesses? I was knocked so hard I couldnt see straight and grabbed the bike and went for the nearest exit. The vehicle that hit me has not yet came forwad...

I hope you heal quickly, my heart goes out to you for not only having to suffer the crash, the pain and the damage to your bike, but the fact that someone who is pretty much a piece of shit runs away, and is able to leave you in the roadway for dead. I hope they burn in hell.

Hoping your recovery is fast, and that the schnook who hit you gets kidnapped by Boko Harum, or is that Procul Harem?

You exited the freeway? How do you know the other guy didnt pull over down the road? Technically, again technically, you've been involved in a traffic collision and you left the scene, a violation of hit and run.

Anyways, I'd suggest calling the CHP office in your area and see if anyone called into dispatch to report the collision. They might have witness, and they might have the other parties information.

I called chp as soon as I stopped. The other vehicle stopped on thd freeway for atleast a moment. I was just knocked stupid and didnt feel like being ran over so I went for the nearest exit...

This is unfortunate that people are just running more and more these days instead of owning up for their mistakes. This happened to me back at the end of may and I have since lost my job over it due to being out for so long.

Damn, that's fucking awful. I got nudged by a box truck on my way over the BB at the end of August. Somehow, I managed to not go down. I gave chase, got a partial plate number, even saw some folks in a car that witnessed it following the truck and filming it on cell phone.

The guy just ran and I gave up the chase. I called it in to the CHP and they said they got a previous report about the same truck involved in a hit & run. Even with the partial plate (6 out of 7 characters), they couldn't do anything.

It's fucking criminal how easy it is to get away with this bullshit.

Heal up, and don't let it eat it at you. Karma will fuck these people.

I'm starting to re-evaluate the "Safety first protocol," it should should be "Catch hit and runner first." They're fucking parasites to the public safety.

sorry to head. damn. by torn up knee you mean scrapped or actual damage that will require medical care? hoping its not the latter. knee injuries suck.

I'm glad you are relatively alright. I got hit on the way home in Aug. Suv on Telegraph Ave in Oakland was stuck behind a car waiting to make a left turn, and just as I was passing on the right lane, the SUV decided to make a go for it and just hit me hard enough to take me down sliding into the intersection. Major bruises, some incidental bike damage, slight rib fractures. The guy stayed and Geico is about to give me a number as a settlement offer.

I don't know yet. It hurts like hell to stand on or try to walk. Too poor for xrays. I'll see in a few more days.
