--REQUESTING COMMUNITY'S ASSISTANCE TO IDENTIFY HIT AND RUN VEHICLE-
The Oakland Police Department is requesting assistance from the community to help identify and locate the driver responsible for an injury hit-and-run that occurred on September 28, 2018, at 5:47 p.m., at the intersection of 35th Avenue and E. 17th Street.
Investigators discovered that a 2007–2009 Toyota Camry sedan (4-doors), gold in color, was traveling eastbound on E. 17th Street approaching the intersection at 35th Avenue when it collided with a black motorcycle that was traveling southbound on 35th Avenue. Investigators believe that the gold vehicle failed to properly clear the intersection while making a left turn and collided with the motorcycle. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene of the accident northbound on 35th Avenue.
The motorcycle rider sustained severe injuries and was then transported to a local hospital for medical attention. The rider was eventually released from the hospital.
Attached is a still photo of the vehicle that was involved in the hit-and-run.
The Oakland Police Department is encouraging the driver of the vehicle to turn themselves in. We are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Oakland Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit at (510) 777-8540.

Are you sure its gold? There is a silver Camry that looks very similar to that near where I work in Oakland. It is regularly parked across the 3 out of the 4 only metered motorcycle spots or in expired metered car spots. It has expired tags, front right fender is badly damaged, missing a portion on the bottom near the door, looks like it was ripped off.

It parks near the 21st and Kaiser Plaza, I'll see if I can snap a pic of it next time I see it.
