not sure what it could be but whenever im around 7-8k and go wot, it hesitates for a second but then takes of like a bat out of hell! if im around 5-6k and go wot theres no hesitation through the 8k range, only if I start around 8k. I bought the bike used but bone stock. the only thing done was the set valve was disabled. other than that it rides great. could the set valve being disabled cause this?

It may have a slight lean space there. Inline fours like revs. The 600 has a dip there

Yah, are you rolling the throttle on or slamming it on? A roll on might do away with that.

If you are WOT at that RPM try running the motor up a bit higher in the previous gear. 8k RPM is almost bog down area on a 750.

I guess slamming on it. Think like a race from a rolling start, trying to go wot as fast as you can

Also may want to look into a danos ecu flash. He can help out with full throttle acceleration because the gsxrs secondaries close to 60-70% at wot. Also can do a few other things. I'd do a flash and then if its not golden do a bazzaz with dyno tune. The gsxrs have some dead spots in the mid rpm range
