Hello!

Hi everybody!

I am a new rider. Just passed the msf course and bought a r3. Is it normal to have mixed feelings about starting motorcycles? I have been watching YouTube videos of DanDan the fireman and mc rider also this forum to use good judgement and safety to prevent accident. I am also nervous of dropping my bike. I don't have plans of getting a bigger cc bike and will use my r3 for long term. I'll be riding my motorcycle in vacant parking lots and build skills and confidence. Give me pointers on how to progress so that I can ride with good skills, judgement and confidence.

Some trepadation is normal of course. Even as a kid starting I was nervous. It goes away with experience, but never all the way away.

Just stored under the seat and when your butt puckers it says hello. :laughing

Ease into it.. practice and ride.

Parking lots are good practice. Getting solid low speed control will help build confidence. Judgement is harder to adjust I think. Use those eyes to scan all the time. Not like driving a car. You can practice in a car though. Pick out dangers, driveways, things on the road, other car behavior. All that is easy to let slide in a car, but on a bike everything matters.

Wish you good luck.. and when ready try the track to up that skill set.

Welcome alxmeister! :party

The longer you do it the easier it gets, but a healthy dose of trepidation isn't a bad thing. You'll always have to be on your guard so just let it become 2nd nature for you.

Thanks. Just really anxious and been feelings of fear and excitement. Just have to practice and be confident and use good judgement.

Welcome!

Where did you take your basic class?

I'm just curious if you were one of my students.

By the way if there's anything I can do to help you progress in your riding career just let me know.

Assume your invisible to cars! Watch lots of motorcycle crash videos to see all the pitfalls so you don't do them!

Aw man. Just dropped my bike!!! Ugh. Well what can I say. Baptism by fire. No biggie, I was just slowing down too much when I was entering in the street and was a bit of a downhill. Just scratches to my mufflers and side frame ugh...

Aw man. Just dropped my bike!!! Ugh.

I've learned from my bikes drops what to avoid in future. Usually stupid things done in haste.

Even riders who have been riding for decades drop bikes once in a while. I dumped mine in the dirt just last week. Accidentally got in a rut filled with soft silt, couldn't steer and almost saved it.

Welcome to BARF and hang in there. Many of us are more than happy to answer beginner questions. Anything to help you become a safer rider.

I did the same thing. Slow right turn then i had to suddenly stop while on an incline and couldn't keep the bike from tipping.
