The story thus far...
tl;dr: I was on BARF from c. 2006-2010 under the username "vaara," then I left. Now I'm back.
Slightly longer:
A couple of you might remember me, and one or two know me IRL. During my earlier time on BARF, I helped author the ill-fated lane-splitting guidelines, and I believe about ten words of my content eventually made it onto the CHP website.
During the intervening years, I did some moto stuff for money, e.g. delivering for Caviar and being a RiderCoach℠ and then an Instructor after the switch to TCTI.
I've been riding for 28 years but am now at an inflection point in my riding "career"... I'm trying to decide whether to repair or replace my Tiger, and what - if anything - to get as my next and possibly last bike. I'm v. interested in possibly downsizing to a CB500x or similar.
Plus, I need a place to vent about the travails of daily moto-commuting in SF and the [CENSORED] [CENSORED] rideshare drivers and other people and things that are out to get us.
So I'm back.
