Recedite, plebes!
Proto model, probably pretty close to production release in 2019.
Not bad looking.

I think the live wire is comming out too soon. I don't think the HD buying public is ready for it.

Maybe the Harley board isn’t as on-board with the LiveWire and electrics in general as once thought?

Crazy thought; what would a Tesla electric Moto look like?

Will look crazy cool but will take a $1,000 deposit to get on the waiting list and then three years for delivery then in the first month will be a safety recall but no corrective parts.

But your neighbors will all be impressed by your garage jewelry.

BTW, I visited a local Harley dealer last week, and they knew about the Livewire but had no other details.

^ thanks for that presentation. I like how the CEO said that "sound" was one of the biggest challenges with the LiveWire. I would think it would/should be range?

I agree. Sure it’s nice they got some really loud straight cut gear-esque whine to come out of the bike. But unless the range is at least 150, I wouldn’t want to take it on any proper ride, which means you’re now limited to light commuting and just putting around town.

Also hopefully they come in far less than the targeted price was when they did the Livewire tours a few years ago. Most of the H-D reps would reply “around $25k” if you asked them how much it was going to cost. I know early adopters to a new technology pay a premium, but if that bike winds up costing over $20k? I don’t care what the specs are...it’s gonna have a real hard time selling.

So I’m sure it’ll come in at $22k. :rolleyes

For $20k I'd buy an electric car.

Don't most motorcycles have straight cut gears? I've seen straight cut gears inside sport bike engine/transmission. Its a single speed, so it may not have that many gear meshes. If they wanted to add noise, then going with a chain would be a idea. Personally, I don't like chain noise, but they make a lot of noise and most people don't realize it.

I hope it has at least 150 miles of combined riding range too.

Would be nice to get a 150 mile range on an electric motorcycle but you got to understand automobiles just recently started hitting that kind of range. I think the Nissan Leaf can do that. The ones that can do 200+ you're going to pay $30k for them.

I think a Zero with the powertank and largest battery will get close to 150 but yeah it'll come in near $20k.

A lot of people say range this range that so I bought the Empulse to see if I could make it work since I got it for a steal. With 60 mile range and the ability to charge at charging stations I can make it work like 80% of the time. How often do you ride long distances is what it comes down to? If you ride more than 100+ miles all the time then an electric motorcycle is not for you. I can get to most places a city or two out also to my favorite mountain passes with 60 miles. If I need to go somewhere far I have other motorcycles also =P
