Weird...this thread was lost in limbo somewhere till now...hopefully a moderator didn't move it.

Anyway, still open to suggestions since I'm planning on taking off at the end of summer.

Planning trips...

I am looking at a Baja trip in November with another BARFer.
I will keep this page in mind when setting up.

Fine. I'll kick it off...

Baja n00bs Adventure: 11/20/09 - 11/30/09. So far it's just Sasquatch and I that's going. I'm open to having others join in, provided we get along with them since Sasquatch and I are rather ornery folk... :laughing

Check out this new thread I created to try and make some Adventure Planing happen!

Chris taught me how....I did it on my own too; the stock tube we changed was still leaking, so I took it out and put a new tube in, works great.

I just skimmed this thread ... never did see what bike you want to take down there. Lots depends on bike in terms of where you can and cannot go.

Best to give as much info about your experience, riding style, bike, time frame, areas you want to see. I don't know if you're an expert or a baja noob, or even if you've ever traveled anywhere on a bike for an extended period.

If your first trip, I'd get with a tour group or hire a guide.

We never camp in Baja, but there are a few places to do so, but that means carrying a shit load of extra stuff, which will limit where you can go and may mean crashing more or fighting rocks and sand. But if you're traveling indefinitely, going further south, then different ride needs to be planned. I've done both on street, dual sport and dirt bikes.

My three rules for Baja (regards the bike) are:
New Tires
New Battery
New Chain/Sprocket

Never pay the first price, bargain for everything, smile and be happy!
Hire a good guide!
