Have a good list of must have supplies for a trip?

I'm trying to formulate a good supply list of essentials to take on a trip to Baja.... (on a motorcycle, of course).

I want to know if any veterans out there have a good idea of what to take along...things like a camping stove, waterproof matches, etc...

Can I see your list?

Thanks! :thumbup

For going anywhere - tire plug kit and CO2 inflation cartridges if you have tubeless tires, spare tubes, irons, and that same inflation kit if you don't.

PCR kit for swine flu diagnosis. :twofinger

Try www.advrider.com and use camping+list+baja and look for:
"Long D/S Ride: What I took, what worked, what didn't."

www.visi.com/~dalebor/

Google "The Ten Essentials."

Sounds like a fun ride. I just started getting my 'hawk off the pavement and it
opens up a lot of options. I think the trick is to pare down the load, and to do
without non-essentials. I carry a tire-plug kit and small air pump in my tank-bag
now everywhere I go.

If your engine needs high octane fuel, octane booster is a must for when you're buying gas from milk jugs on the side of the road.

Now flyin' solo...
And here's a big thumbs-up to KTM for making that an easy thing to deal with on the 950/990! (pull fuse, pour in low-grade fuel, ride away)! Also, part of my 'must have' list for summer riding is a camel back, full of water (mine is a 2L) for easy sippin' access.

I'm considering another run down in either November or January. Check out my Baja thread if you'd like:thumbup

Nice ride report! Thanks for that list of what you brought with you. Even more motivation to get out there....

I was thinking about stopping at a few places while down there and renting surfboards, adding some waves to a Baja moto trip....did you see any places renting them while you were there (a little north of Ensenada maybe)?

North of Ensenada is incredibly dangerous with the drug wars going on. Major no no these days.

You can rent surf boards once your at the bottom at Old Man's break in San Jose Del Cabo on the Gulf side, and at Cerritos on the Pacific side just south of Todos Santos - the beach where the Harley is in the restaurant in my thread.

Old man's is heavily localized, so expect some fisticuffs:laughing, but the Pacific side is much more friendly.

All the surf spots and board rentals that I know of are at the bottom of the peninsula.

This was a great little surf hotel on the beach in the Todos Santos/Cerritos area.

Cool.....that's too bad that Northern Baja is shit right now. Last time I was there was my 20th birthday; camped at La Fonda and, R.I.P, Salsipuedes (which is now a natural gas plant!!! Lame).
