Has your insurance gone up?

TheRiddler

Riddle me this.
I just got my renewal notice for my insurance in the mail. It's going up for both my cars and my bike by roughly 5%. No changes in driving record, address, or anything that would affect an insurance rate.

I heard from an agent that a lot of agencies got approval to raise their rates and are doing so. I'm curious how wide-spread the rate hikes are, or if I'm just one of the lucky ones.

Rates are going down this coming renewal, but I've had several changes (moved to safer area, no longer single).

I see you ride a V-Strom, Try Geico. Liability on my Wee was $104 a year the last 2 years (300k). Haven't got my renewal this year. Just do the online quote, takes about 10 minutes.

My bikes went up by a couple of dollars, but my family's car insurance (Geico) went down 24%. (this is probably from my daughter's collision aging off the books).

My auto policies went up for 2019 with zero claims for years. I called and they said everyone else in California went up due to the rise in claims. My policy jumped up about 35%+

Who did you switch to? I currently have State Farm as well and my rates skyrocketed. Same as everyone else, nothing changed with my driving record. I want to move to someone else.

Shop around for quotes. If you decide to stay with that company, the loyalty discount (if offered) rarely makes up for the difference in premium. It pays to shop around.

My airstream and pickup went up, bikes not so much change, but I added one more.

I shopped around and I couldn't find anyone that was cheaper than State Farm - grrrr. 30% increase with no claims or tickets.

Progressive wanted $2100 per year for my 790 and I'm over 60!

Seems we're all paying for the wildfires.....

I shop every renewal! I was Geico for cars, bikes and house. House went up $500 a year and switched everything to Allstate. Tried Geico again on renewal and still high!

Everything always goes up, my property taxes, my insurance, gasoline, groceries.
Inflation is a fact of life.

My first apartment rented for 55 a month, my first home was purchased for 12,000, and my my first car was 10.00. My first motorcycle was actually a big ticket item at 200.00....

These days, my home is valued at 1.5 mil, and my most recent bike cost over 17k plus fees.

Even modern appliances like cell phones are sky high right now. I bought a S7 phone 4 years ago for 150 and the S10 is selling for 1100 , so I went with a cheaper Motorola for 230....

There are no bargains anymore, especially with Insurance Companies.

You have to like the business model, though. Charge a lot to customers, pay little or nothing if they have a loss. When you complain they leave the state.
