Has anyone ever answered a survey that’s reported in the media?

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
Polls...how do they work?

I always see polls about political or social topics but who answers these surveys?

Good example is what is the opinion of trumps presidency by the public but I can never tell where the question was conducted and who participated

Have you taken a survey that reflects the public opinion?

Yeah, I had a CBS presidential poll over the phone. It surprised me because they called me one day and it was on the evening news the next day. I could tell by the questions as asked and as described. Only time.

It only requires a few thousand people to get statistically valid results, so it is pretty unlikely you would get the call.

Any good quality poll should have the details of the methodology available.

I've been asked about two dozen times and actually taken the 10 minutes to answer two or three times.

I'm always a little wary that they're a phishing scam, so their introduction will influence my willingness to respond.

Yes.
I get Gallup polls kinda regular in the mail. They include a $1 bill so I tend to respond

I’ve also gotten calls about local issues. More opposition research than anything

Pew or Gallup called a few years back. I remember being angry because their one poll question was completely leading. Something along the lines of:

Do you Love Hillary Clinton or just Intensely Like her?

"I love her so much I wish she would fall off a cliff"

"Ok, one for Love Hillary Clinton" :mad
