Hd shouldn't pursue EVs and "performance" bikes under the bar and shield branding, way too much baggage for being old stodgy tanks for greying dentists.

I wonder how many employees HD took from Alta. Sounds kinda shady knowing that they partnered together a short while back and all of a sudden they split. HD must have received all the information they needed before they dumped Alta. They pretty much pumped and dumped them

Par for the course in the valley. They'll fit right in.

Hmmmm. I wonder if there will be job listings for Prototype Technicians for them soon.

I see and get headhunted constantly for that job for all the other EV companies around here.

RE: gettin hired @ The MoCo:

[1] Erik Buell graduated as an engineer
& just showed up in Milwaukee,
ready to work.....soon, he was hired

[2] 10+ yrs ago, I recommended Buell
[an H-D subsidiary then]
to a BA engineer pal.....soon, he was hired

so, GET SERIOUS about getting in there -
mebbe you, too, wil be hired !

Wow..... did not see that coming. I assumed that if nothing else HD would have taken a larger interest in Alta over time and piggy backed on the technology for a new street line.

Love to be a fly on the wall to know what happened.

yeah, me, too - on both counts

this development is somehow familiar, reminiscent of the Hero-EBR debacle that led to 1 of Erik's companies' serial failures

here's hoping Alta was better-positioned than EBR, this go-round.....

Rob wrenches on big red but he rides orange and black
Technically he wrenches on big blue. If he were up in Canada his store would be red. Still fucks me up when I'm up there. Kinda like suddenly finding yourself in a no-helmet-law state. It takes a while to stop going "Wait...wuh???"

Always like to have options at any given time.

Besides, I drive Honda because they damn near give me one for free. But I paid my own money to ride a Harley.
I get it, trust me. But here in the U.S it seems you spend time on cars for money and spend time on bikes for fun. It's a shame. I even know a few aircraft techs that left the industry because there's more money in cars. That one didn't make a lot of sense until I stopped to think about it.

The Acura brand is up there too. Think there’s something like 50 Acura dealers in the Honda Canada network (about 280 Acura dealers in the American Honda network).

And it is quite the bubble here in CA. The handful of times I’ve been to AZ and seen people riding around with no helmet and/or open carrying a pistol on the hip, it is always a shock to me.
