Another good reason to go to Wednesday night drags! Motorcyclist magazine was doing a comparison of Kawasaki's supercharged H2 and the Lightning all electric motorcycle http://lightningmotorcycle.com/

Both bikes were impressive going down the dragstrip. Will be a full write up in the November/December issue of Motorcyclist magazine. Was pretty cool talking to both riders, cameraman and Lightning Rep. Funny, giving them pointers on dragracing! They had just come back from Bonneville, did some highway riding and then the dragstrip. The Ligthning bike looked very nice.

Lightning is very cool. I have seen them at EV events around. The bike is beautiful. They could of saved a lot of time and bought some off the shelf wheels, but they designed there own and they are great. They designed their system to DC fast charge up front, where Zero Motorcycle is not compatible with DC fast charging because of a relatively low voltage battery pack. You can get onboard semi-fast charger, but its still really slow. You have to go to a aftermarket DigiNow fast charger to get that 80% charge in ~1/2 hour.

Lightning is very expensive and I'm worried that they are not selling enough to be sustainable. I know Zero has a couple of years at their current sales growth to be sustainable.

I wish Lightning would go to Pikes Peak with a real rider every year.

Speaking of electric motorcycle drag racing I got to take one of the Energica bikes for a test ride. I don't know why you would compare it to a Zero S those are slow the SR is much faster.

I guess if you compare it to the H2, then it is not that expensive....Richard mentioned Pikes Peak and winning by 20 seconds!

The lightening is gorgeous. :drool

Richard and Team have done a brilliant job of designing the premiere performance E - Bike (my opinion).

Riding position will never let an OG with a titanium knee light me ride it. Maybe one day there will be a LightMultishning. :teeth

Watching the acceleration of the lightning is awesome. That thing pulls like crazy. (Wonder if that's what i look like going down the track). Gotta remember, it does all this in 1 gear.
