gsxr 600 2007 bike, but has 2008 parts all over; what 2007 plastics needed?

I have a 2007 gsxr600. i just bought it used, and im not planning on doing this change any time soon, but i'd like to figure out what would go into changing it up.

It has all 2008 parts on it, or at least just the front end. I was wondering, apart from the fairing kit, headlight, windshield, and "undercowling" what all parts i'd need in order to get it looking like a "new" 2007 gsxr600? I dont know anywhere close to enough about bikes to figure that out myself, but i can tell from looking at fairing kits that just buying new fairings probably wont work out.

bike has obviously been dropped, but its going to be a bit of a project bike for me. Most immediate fix will be that front brake res bracket. practically anything else is a secondary fix. its got vinyl everywhere, and udnerneath its some ugly silver/gray with black pattern on it.

Just trying to get together a parts list to see what im looking at in terms of cost.

Jesus. That thing was cobbled together by someone lazy and in a hurry. A rare treat. Be careful.:wow

yeahhhhh.......i got some work ahead of me. I dont want to order fairings because a) im not used to the bike yet and b) i have no idea what all else i'll need and dont want to take these ones off till im sure about how to put the new ones back on.

Definitely need a headlight unit though. and probably a different lockbox/pillion seat thingy.

pretty sure the rest of the fairings just clip/screw right on to the frame and stuff though.....pretty sure.....

I'd start with a good twice over nut and bolt. Brakes, that shitty fork seal, chain/sprockets, tires, BRAKES.

Looks like all of it is from an 08/09 fairing kit. Looks like an aftermarket kit (hence poor fit meant). Everything from an 08/09 bolts up to the 06/07 less the seat, tail, and you have to swap out the fuel pump to use the 08/09 tank. You need an 08/09 subframe to run the tail on your year bike.

Looks like the only body parts you can reuse is the fuel tank, mirrors, stay, and seat (that is if the back of the subframe under the rear seat cover is silver in color.) If is all black, then you will have to use the 08-09 tail plastics. I believe the 06-07 2 piece subframe is a little longer than the 08-09. Make sure there is a flat rubber donut on that right side of the frame. That donut is what hold the peg on the side fairing where the picture show a gap between the frame and side fairing. And of course, take care of that brake reservior holder. You may need to shorten that hose, too. Hopefully you are not missing too many bolts, nuts, and plastic fasteners.

theres a person coming by tomorrow to look over the more immediate stuff. def. need the brake fluid changed, gonna order that piece, probably OEM from the shop and have them fit it. Shitty fork seal? I wasnt sure or not, as its not really been leaking or anything. i figured it was just residue, but i'll have the person take a look.

I was thinking that only the fairing and that headlight area really needed parts, I think there is no subframe or no appropriate subframe for whatever ive currently got. probably gonna need to buy that.

Perhaps i'll just take it to a shop and have them do all that shit once im more comfortable on the bike itself. No point putting shiny new plastics on everythign when theres a high chance of me dropping it.

Ya ditch the ill fitting stuff from the wrong year and swap it to the right year. 06/07 600/750 should all work. I personally love the 07 black and blue 600.

i;ll have a look. the headlight thing is definitely off even though the fit looks fine to me. Tail section is weirdly loose, all the fairings are loose or dont quite fit right. might need subframe and while im at it might as well replace the tank cover thing. its not a metal tank, its a fiberglass thing, im assuming that is a cover for the actual tank.

And im missing a couple bolts in the pretty gas cap thing.
