Grips to fit OEM throttle tubes?

I’ve yet to come across grips that are designed like the OEM grips - with grooves/slots built in to the ends that fit over the lips of throttle tubes.
(Dirt bike throttle tubes don’t have this issue but a lot of street bikes do)
Sorry for the confusing post, I lack the proper grip terminology!

In this instance, Im looking for sporty grips to fit my 2008 Hypermotard.

Why not just get new grips that include throttle tubes? I put Rizoma grips on my 2008 Hypermotard and it couldn’t be easier.

I guess that’s an option I hadn’t thought of. I didn’t want anything necessarily fancy though and hoped some company might make sticky grips that slip over OEM tubes neatly.

In my experience the throttle tubes that have ridges and all that are not meant to be regripped. I have filed all that down before in order to get a grip over it and it was not at all worth the hassle. Definitely easier to find a grip with a throttle tube. There should be plenty of options that give you what you want from fancy to plain.

My favorite are Grab On Comfort Superbike grips.

They are super comfortable. And easy to install. Follow these instructions:

1. Remove old grips.
2. Thoroughly clean the bar on the left and the throttle tube on the right with rubbing alcohol and a clean rag. Get them super clean.
3. Thoroughly clean the entire inside of the grips, again with rubbing alcohol.
4. Using more alcohol as a lubricant, slide the grips on and position them before the alcohol starts to evaporate. If necessary, add more alcohol to the space between the bar and the grip. (The alcohol is working as a lubricant.)

Note, since these are foam grips, they can be stretched and compressed a little bit to optimize fit. Make sure they don't rub on anything on the right side when they're rotated.

5. Let sit overnight for all the alcohol to evaporate. At that point, if you did a good job of cleaning the bar, throttle tube, and insides of the grips, they're going to be stuck on really good. In 20+ years of doing this, I've never had one loosen on me. No glue or hairspray or anything else needed.

To remove, simply squirt some alcohol between the bar and grip, massage to work the alcohol in there and at some point they'll just slip right off.
