Greetings to fellow BARF'ers

Greetings to everyone on the forum! Been off a bike for years but recently picked up a new to me R9T. Getting old now so this is just a weekend cruiser. Hope to meet up with fellow members sometime after all the craziness is over.

Cheers,

-Adrian

Welcome to BARF. Looks like you're parked in a community garage, glad you have a lock and bike cover, but make sure you keep insurance on it, too. It seems to be one of the more targeted area for bike theft because you're away from cars driving by and you can usually hear someone coming. Safe riding!

Welcome!

Since you are returning to riding I strongly suggest taking the intermediate riding clinic at your local CMSP training range. It's a great refresher and also teaches you new riding skills that you probably do not have.

Nearest sites to you are at the college of San Mateo, but I think they're closed, that's put on by Northern California motorcycle training.

2 wheel safety training Also teaches the IRC at their ohlone college or Newark range.

And Golden State motorcycle training teaches the IRC at their San Jose site.

@splat Absolutely. Insurance is on along with chain/lock. Gated underground parking but still that doesn't mean much these days.

@motomania2007 Re-doing that in January when the MSF course opens up again. It's been about 10yrs since I've had a bike.

Good that you are going for more training. Best way to gain skills and have more fun riding.

the classes are going on right now. Some sites are closed and will remain closed indefinitely due to Covid. But most ranges are open and running courses.

They are not offering any MSF courses. The courses are CMSP (California Motorcyclist Safety Program) and Total Control. Very different than MSF courses, and in most cases better than MSF. Haven't been any MSF courses for 6 years in California. If you are searching for MSF you generally won't find any sites offering them.

MSF also never offered anything like the IRC.

I teach MSF (for military only) and the CMSP and Total Control courses.

@motomania2007 My mistake, I meant the CMSP course. I reached out to Pacific Motorcycle Training in south San Francisco but they're not running classes until Jan. They're relatively close to me.
