Good blender?

Had a Costco vitamix 6500 that died after a year of use (probably from me jiggling the container to move ingredients) but either way that turned me off from vitamix. Anyone have other experience with high end blenders? I'd like to get it from costco because they took it back effortlessly, but I don't think that'll be an option.

I have the Ninja from Costco and I love it. Works great and those blades are sharp. My friend had to get 15 stitches when she cut herself cleaning it.

The vitamix/blendtec/ etc use dull blades to pulverize, so they aren't dangerous and won't dull, reducing performance. I feel like mentally I'd like to stay in that realm unless there's a lot of positive feedback from Sharp blender users

Also have a Ninja and love it, but we were coming from the standard shitty $1 at a yard sale type of blender, so of course we'd love it. Couldn't say if we'd feel the same coming from a Vitamix, but I can say that it's absolutely worth the money, whereas I definitely wouldn't feel the same about the Vitamix if it only lasted a year. Also, I don't jiggle it, I adjust viscosity until it just gets the flow going and even then it's so thick it won't really pour. Not sure if the Vitamix does the same, but maybe not if you need to jiggle it..?

If its from Costco, bring it back and get a refund. I have a VitaMix from Costco as well that works great.

I did take it back, it's gone and I got my money back no hassle, which is why Costco rules. I'm not trying to ship stuff to be inspected and rejected for warranty claims. Costco now has the e310 instead which has received less than stellar reviews, so I'm wondering how much experience people have with other "high end" blenders before I fork out $100 I expect to only perform for a year or so.

Ninja user here. We have had it for years and made a ton of smoothies with ice and I have not noticed any dullness with the blades as of yet. I still take extra care when cleaning it. The only issue I have is with the lid locking mechanism it is fragile so take care when taking the lid off.

I have a blendtec at home that is used almost everyday for smoothies and making batters. This has been running for almost a decade but had to replace the jar midway (not complaining since blendtec gave me a new jar for free after i called their support).

I am so bummed that somebody killed a Vitamix....sigh...there goes another illusion about "buying the best."

I’ve had a Vitamix for 6 or 7 years and have never had any issues. I make fruit/veg smoothies daily with it. I actually make up a batch that lasts a couple of days. Blendtec is their rival, I went with the Vitamix because they have a 7 year warranty and will pay for the shipping if anything goes wrong.

I've got a Ninja from costco. It does good. It's my first blender with the tower of blades design.

Pros:
Blends well
Sharp
No issues so yet
Cons:
Multi-Blade tower makes a huge mess in the container which is tough if you are blending something that is say 1/4 of the capacity or less
Needs careful cleaning
Only has a tiny corner opening to drizzle in stuff while blending
As mentioned earlier, the locking mechanism of the lid is difficult

My previous blender was an old one with just the bottom blades and worked fine for years until it didn't. (talking 20 years from the 80s)
