The CERA club is organizing a Dual Sport ride in Placerville on June 12, 2005. 120 miles of trails, 2 track, dirt roads and pavement in the Eldorado National Forest, course easy to challenging with optional hard routes.

Here are the Web page and Flyer

From the CERA Web site
The Gold Bug Dual Sport Ride treks through the historic Gold Country of California in and around Placerville CA.
Riding the Gold Bug you cover many different surfaces and conditions. The event runs through busy town streets and quiet wooded trails. Because of the diverse terrain that you cover, leave the hard-core motocrosser and superbikes in the garage, along with the Wings and Cruisers. But don't be afraid to strap a roll chart on your R1150 GS and join us! While we continue to work diligently to keep trails open for pure off-road riding, the increased limits on public land use could make dual-sport rides the only way to ride legally. We hope this won't be the case, but if you've got a street-legal bike come on out and check out what dual sports are all about!

I'm considering this one. Should be fun!
JoeBar, are you going?
I do not have a DS nor a plated dirt bike at this time so I won't be able to join the fun. I wish I could, another time...

I'm going to revive the XR* and help sweep. The last Gold Bug (99) I rode the XR and had a lot of fun (even dragging the r11 GSs back on trail was semi fun). It was in July, and waaay too hot, but that just meant the cool air at the mine felt even better.

* Given my spotty track record with the XR, this puts my chances of being there at 50/50.
