Going into CVSA and Background Interview Pt. 2 for CHP

Hey all! It's been awhile since I've posted on BARF but figured I'd come to the LEO forum for advice.

I'm about to take my CVSA in a couple weeks and I'm not worried about that except for the standard nervousness of the process.

I also have another interview at the Golden Gate Division HQ, I'm not sure what this one involves but it might be the "what we found" part. I've already done my initial interview.

Here is the part I need advice on and I'm somewhat worried - would a red light camera ticket (right hand turn against red) DQ me from the process? I was on the motorcycle the other day and noticed the intersection was clear and made the turn. Noticed the cameras and immediately thought "well shit.."

So thoughts?

no, it shouldn't. could actually be a funny ice breaker. a ticket is not DQ'able... a pile of tickets is

I had a speeding ticket while in the academy (non sponsored). Made oral boards interesting explaining it. Secret to being hired is being honest, own your behavior, move on more mature.

Good luck

What is a pile of tickets?

I went thru Sheriffs process when I was 28, and from 16-28 I had about 5 moving violations, but something like 10 fix it tickets.

Ticket alone? Probably not, unless this is one of many.

Lying about it? Yep.

Thanks all for the replies. If I get one (not sure I did) I'll be sure to report it. I have 1 moving violation from years ago and that's it, so fairly clean driving record overall.

That would be a pile of tickets. :laughing CHP may have a different standard than an SO.

The important thing is that you were honest and none involved FTA/FTP cases.
