I see 4 lights!
Like some of you I won't use the weed killer sold in stores and prefer to make my own. I happen to use a mild type (if there is such a thing) of vinegar, salt and dawn. It works ok but this year with good rain the bright sunny days it's hard to keep up and doubling up on the spraying barely makes a dent.
What works for you? Here is what I do now and it's pretty amazing at how good it works.
I thought I'd use a flame thrower instead of the vinegar. I could get the really strong vinegar and use Borax but I got one of those propane burner thingies you attach to a throwaway (which I just refill instead) and went about burning them. No good, probably because green lush weeds don't burn well and they survive the flames. Burned grass grows really well too.
So I put the two together. I spayed the weeds with the solution first and then hit them with the flame. That kept the risk of burning the street down to a minimum. As soon as the weeds singed which takes only seconds I spray them again. They steam up a little.
Gone. They will not come back (weeks now) and they dry up so much they blow away. This works so fast what used to be a reapplication process now takes a short time and by the next day, gone.
So, at your own risk, if your weeds are the kind that are intent on recovering the planet from human existence, give the spray, flame heat up spray a try. You will not have to go back even if it rains the next day.
