I just recently broke down and purchase a pair of Joe Rocket GPX Pascal Picotte replica gloves. They are the 2001 model on sale at Road Riders for $73.95.
They fit pretty well from the finger on back to the wrist strap. The only grip i have with these is the area behind the wrist strap, where it covers part of your forearm. It is a bit loose. But then again i have small forearms. The palm is leather, and relatively soft and supple to begin with so not much break-in needed.
They come with carbonfiber knuckles which is an added bonus considering the price. The carbonfiber isnt as thick as the Technik's or the AlpineStars, but i can live with it since I do not plan on using them for anything but protection against pavement rash.
One of the best feature about these gloves is the seam/stitching is on the outside of the gloves and not inside like the Technic's and most other brands. The Technic Silverstone gloves tend to have this part of the glove bite into the front of your finger tips. A real hassle and annoyance as far as im concern. The Alpine Stars that i have tried on also has the seam on the inside. However they dont bite into my fingertips as much as the Technic ones do. But its presense is still there whenever i close my fingers. Some people can live with this. i cant.
Other than that for the price of roughly $98.95 per pair, these gloves are kick ass. They are light enough to wear during the winter time, and warm enough to wear during our current low temp. condition.
Comfort factor - 9 (extremely comfy)
Style factor - 6 ( design isnt as cool as others )
Protection - 7 ( decent amount of protection for daily riding)
Availability - 10 ( everyone can get them or has them in stock )
Race-able factor - 6 ( not recommended for heavy racing useage. Track Day ok)
Overall satisifaction factor- 8 ( fairly decent glove for the money )
