Haven't been climbing aboard my road king much these days, was considering going back to something small and tossable, now that that entire market has come into existence. My commute is from Pacifica to SF, so not a ton of freeway. I probably wouldn't trek this bike, as I don't currently plan on selling the Harley. I feel like the Vitpilen 401 might tickle my fancy, anyone have any input on that bike/class for general hooning/enjoyment? My biggest consideration is how well our government is lighting our tax dollars on fire as opposed to fixing our roads and how well that translates to riding enjoyment. Anyone else with big bike experience have experience with these comparable "toys"? Stepping up would probably be the Duke 890R or comparable UJM standard, but I need the bike to perform some of the will-restricting my right wrist will ignore...

Any experienced riders with a new <400cc bike care to weigh in?

I rode the Svartpilen 401 and I like it a lot. Great little bike to zip around, with and it was smoother than the 701 still got some good power. It's a scrambler of sorts so its at home on rough roads and dirt roads. The vitpilen is the more cafe racer style bike. So they have 2 different bikes for whatever suites your fancy.

The svartpilen is actually probably preferred, as lou says, handlebars>all

Are you going to park it outside in SF or keep it in garage? I don't know the state of 'bike stealing in SF' but it would not be fun having a nice bike parked and it ... disappears....

I live in Pacifica and my work garage is secured by the SFSD.
