I think it depends on what oil you use. I use Amsoil and run 50:1. Honda say 37:1. I've heard people running 25:1. I think it all depends on what you feel works for you. But check the oil bottle and call a Yambag dealer.

I got an 03 YZ125, trails I run it at 46:1 and track I go about 38:1 - 40:1 depending on the track. Acording to yamaha they say 32:1 but I find it just spits spooge all over the place at that ratio. I'd say try it at 40:1 being it is an older bike and needs the lubrication more and at that ratio you wont get too much spooge.

The book I have for my CR500 says to run 20:1, but thats a lot of oil. I go with 36:1 and it seems to work well with not a lot of drool.

I used to run 36:1, but I would go with 32:1 to start with and see if that is too rich.

thanks guys,
i tried a 32:1, it seemed to work cool, maybe a bit smokey. ill try the 36:1 then 40:1, hopefully thats enough oil for that old motor.

you never know til ya try, i talked with the motul rep, he said they run em' about 36/1 and in the newer bikes up to 50/1 you just got to see where your's performs best and pay some attention to hot days> add alittle < as well as your plug......
good luck
