Fuel line to the Carbs

I've been playing musical gas tanks on a few different motorcycles and with my clear fuel line, I've noticed that there is huge air bubble between the carbs and the gas tank.

After running the engine for a while, the engine sounds like it's stuttering, or won't reach higher RPMs -- and the air bubble is still there.

Does this air bubble affect the performace?

I ask because there many folks talk about having engine problems after jetting -- and not propperly priming their carbs, removing the tank, or even getting their bike tipped over.

The way I've reduced this air bubble is with a syringe full of fuel, trying to load the fuel line connect to the carb with as much gas a possible, and then attaching the line to the tank.
