!!SOLD!! FS: 2004 Honda VFR, ABS, Asphalt Black, 48k miles, $3000
SOLD
I am crazy busy at work and won't be able to show this during the week (probably only on weekends). Therefore, I am only listing it here for now to see if there is any interest. I'll put it on CL in a few weeks.
2004 Honda VFR800A (ABS), Asphalt Black, 48k miles. $3000
This is my third Honda VFR. I had two fourth generation bikes prior. I searched for over a year to find the right 2004 Asphalt Black (only year it was available) with ABS. I found and purchased this bike locally on March 23rd, 2008.
It has the following modifications:
I never thought I'd part with this bike and I know I am going to miss it dearly. In 2011 I rode this bike from San Jose to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and back - including the mostly dirt Dalton Highway. Seeing as how I tend to ride it like an adventure bike, I decided to get a proper one - a Tiger. Funny enough, I think the VFR's suspension is better overall.
The Speedo Healer corrects the speedometer by slowing the speed sensor pulse down 10%. Although the speedometer is now nearly 100% accurate, the odometer has been running 10% slow since it was installed at approx 17000 miles - so although the odometer reads 45365, the actual mileage is closer to ((45365-17000)*1.1)+17000 = 48201.
The bike has been down at < 5mph a few times, there are certainly scratches but the asphalt black hides them well. It's hardly perfect but still shows well. It runs great, never leaked or burned a drop of oil.
It is priced to sell and this price is firm. If it does not sell at this price, I will re-list it at a later date for less. I am in no hurry to sell.
