Front sliders for 2002 KTM 640SM?

Wondering if anyone knew of a way to mount front sliders to my 2002 KTM 640SM? I bought the KTM sliders but the front axel is semi-solid and can not use the bolt for the sliders.

Any ideas? Can I buy an aftermarket axel?

you can drill/tap the ends of the axle itself big enough for the rod to go through...

the axle is hollow even though there are solid end caps...
