Found an iPad

And I want to see if it is worth finding the owner. It was in the middle of the street and had been run over. It won't turn on, but I don't have a charger either to see if the battery is dead, or the whole thing. I don't know if you can retrieve data that the owner might want if it is toast. Is it possible the owner might have insurance and want it back to get a new one?

Not looking for a reward. I just hate it when I lose shit. But I also don't want to deal with the Apple store morons with my own time just to be nice. I don't like Apple, and I know they are screw ups at that store.

Well, if they're lucky, they were running 5.0, with iCloud, and all their data is safe (and accessible to them.)

If it's been hit, though, odds are the entire thing is toast, it's just one big logic board and a battery behind that display.

I generally do try to find people, but in this case, I think I'd just turn it in for electronics recycling.

Okay, I plan on hitting the running trail near the store soon so I will just drop it off. If it has a warranty maybe they can contact the owner. If not then they toss it for me.
