AFT is promising to release a revised schedule in the next week or so. Bummed that Peoria and Sacramento will not happen this year but its a crazy year.

There is a big race in South Carolina every year called Thunder on the Mountain at Traveler's Rest Speedway. The 2020 edition is this weekend and its looking like a National. Mees, Bauman, Gauthier and Halbert have all stated they will be there racing their factory twins.

Crazy year is understating it.. :teeth

I have been missing the racing a lot... hope they can get some racing in soon at the National level. The Thunder thing should feel good to those guys. I assume fans will be allowed to attend.

The pandemic upended Royal Enfield's AFT plans for 2020 (see post 1609 of this thread) but everything appears to be back on track and then some.

Johnny Lewis will debut the Royal Enfield race bike at AFT Rounds 5&6 in late August the location for which is still listed as TBA on the AFT schedule. In addition to racing in Production Twins, Royal Enfield will have bikes on hand for test rides, exhibitions by the women who built custom RE street trackers for the BUILD - TRAIN - RACE program and flat track schools taught by Johnny Lewis. Thats a big commitment to using AFT for marketing the entire Royal Enfield line of motorcycles. Good for the sport.

Entire post about the RE program on the AFT website HERE.

2019 AFT Singles Champ Dalton Gauthier. He's on the Factory HD SuperTwins team this year alongside Bryan Smith and Jarod Vanderkooi. Gauthier will be running the #79 this season.

So pumped for Friday and Saturday AFT racing!

Some news from the always excellent Sideburn Magazine:

- Jeffrey Carver has stepped up his program from selected SuperTwins wild card entries to full SuperTwins team.

- New rules summary:
• Permanent SuperTwins teams have increased from 14 to 16 leaving room for just two Wild Card entries at each event.
• Bikes will be gridded four to a row (rather than six) on starts
• Timed races will allow for Half-Miles and short tracks to be as long as Mile races (no more sub ten minute Main events). Format is time + 2 laps.
• SuperTwins riders get to run personalized number plates using any colors or typefaces they want. Production Twins and Singles still run standardized number plates for each class.
• SuperTwins racers can more easily switch to a back up bike during red flags or if they encounter problems during race starts. Back-up bikes must be in a pre-determined staging area. A rider can switch to back-up bike once during a race.
• Red flags rules have been revised to keep the program moving. The change in rules about Back-up bikes are part of this so no repairs to get a rider back on a bike during red flags; just jump on the back-up.
