Flash ecu or dyno tune?

I picked up a 2008 Hayabusa for my current commuter. I am debating between getting the equipment to flash the ecu myself to remove the restrictions and speed limiter, or if it would be worth while to get it flashed and dyno tuned at the same time? The bike is stock with yoshimura mufflers.

Would there be a worthwile gain from a dyno tune on an unmolested bike? Or should I just remove the timing and speed restrictions and call it good?

Can anyone reccomend a local shop that does good dyno tuning and flashes ecus? I would rather have it done properly than throw on a power commander and only tweak the fueling.

Yup, remove restrictions. You can always go back and have a custom map built later.

Does anyone else have experience with https://www.brgracing.com in Martinez/Pacheco?

I have a flashed ecu, but just bought some ported throttle bodies and I’d like to get the bike dialed in to take advantage of them.

Hopefully they can work with Bazzaz because that’s the plug in that I’ve got..

Flash is good for removing restrictions but for fueling it usually just comes with a generic map for your mods. If you have a full system, you could probably benefit from a flash and custom dyno tune for fueling. If on a budget, a flash with generic fuel map is probably better value. I went to Fastline in Fremont they did my flash and custom tune.

Thanks for the recommendation.

I currently have a Bazzaz Zfi which is basically the same as a pcv, but requires different software. Not many shops are familiar with it, so I may need to get a PCV.

I’ll give fastline a call.

Give Marc or Raul a call over at Wheelsmith Racing/Factory Pro. They're in San Rafael.

I just dropped my bike off to KC at brg-racing today for a dyno tune. I pick it back up on Monday afternoon and I’m hoping for great results
