OK folks have the skinny on the next trip.

Compared calenders with Eddie and this is what we got.
The 8th is out since the boat is chartered for Shark stuff that weekend.

The 15th and the 23rd are available.
The trip costs are the same with one exception.

$2100 boat
10/person pole and tackle

14.95 for license

Just wanted to point out here, rockfishing season closed as of 10/31/09 for this area. So a trip on the El Dorado will be Crab / Sanddabs likely. There are other types of trips available, just not rockfish.
Just a public service annoucement folks......keep moving.

And to whomever asked...rockcod is indeed very tasty. Light white meat. Actually the primary target for me when I get the opportunity.

As an aside, there are forces working on restricting your rights to fish for rockies every year. The result recently was the passage of a series of 'preserves' to protect fish species that have never been endangered by the actions of private hook and line fishing fools such as myself. There were already regulations in place. (Ten cod total, no more than two such and such). Weather conditions effectively reduce trips too, as the Barfers trip here. To avoid any tree hugger discussions, I'll steer away from any stronger political statements. But understand, if you don't pay attention, you will no longer be doing any fishing with your families in a few years. Semi=Rant over.

You are indeed correct my friend. I should have clarified that we will be fishing for sanddabs and setting crab pots. It's a great trip you should join us.

Thanks for your actions in protecting us charter folk as we seem to constantly be on the bad end of the screw.
