What the shit is this...
LOL.

My 13yo has one. And do did the clerk at our hotel tonight.

Apparently teachers in most elementary and middle schools are fucking absolutely sick of them.

I love Da Whores
I happened to see 2 different kinds this weekend. My Grandnephew & my GFs Grandnephew.
One lit up different colors when you spun it. My GN had 2 plain ones but he thought it was cool that I could hold 2 together & spin them in opposite directions. :laughing

Went to anchor brewery today with family in town. Random guy had one that he consistently spun during the entire tour. It was the most distracting, inconsiderate thing I have seen in a long time. The guy spun it when people were asking questions, when the tour guide was talking, and during every single second the group was engaged in the tour. I wanted so badly to rip it out of his hand and throw it out the damn window.

Not a fan!

You should try one of these. It might calm your nerves.

I'm good.

I just found it really inconsiderate to hear click-spinnnnn during a conversation/tour that people paid for. My family was excited about the tour, just to have someone who couldn't put their toy in their pocket for an hour, be a distraction to others.

Maybe others don't care but we had to distance ourselves from him just to hear the guide. I think it was more about the public space thing. I try to be super considerate to others, especially in a group setting. Seems to not be the norm anymore.

I've always been the type to play with stuff while I think, work, post online, watch TV, etc. Usually my go to is taking the battery cover off remote controls and I spin those in my fingers. DirecTV remote battery covers are my current favorite.

I do think it would be rude to mess with a spinner while having a conversation with somebody though. In the same vein as people who vape and blow smoke in your vicinity and say, "what? It's just water vapor."

I'll always find something while I'm by myself. A paper clip. A pen. Something. So I could see myself getting one. Haven't yet though.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people who have and mess with them now didn't have a fidgeting habit before and it's just a fad for them. Doing it in front of people you're trying to have a conversation with, when I see this happen, is proof of that. I never fidget or mess with stuff while I'm conversing with someone so they know I'm paying attention. Or at the very least, I really try not to.

The idea of them is fine, in my view. For people that do this shit anyway with random objects. I'm spinning a DirecTV battery cover right now and posting with one hand.

But fads gonna fad and social media gonna social media. Only a few people I personally know have them and I know they are not the fidgety type. It's just a 'hot right now' thing for them.

There's no fuckin way I'd pay more than 20 bucks for one though. 100 dollars is insane.

They are $0.99 at the local 7-11. I don't get them. I think a yo-yo is much more fun!

I can't yo-yo while I'm thinking about whether an environmental impact is significant or not at work. Too distracting and cumbersome.

This is me, with whatever object I can find to fit the purpose.

I'll probably still get a spinner soon. I waste more money on shit I don't need waiting in the checkout line at the grocery store.

I got the one in the OP picture for $10 at a farmers market. It's all metal. Reminded me of a throwing star.

I haven't seen any in stores or markets for sale yet or I'd probably have one already.

Just links to online stores. I'll keep my eyes open.

Do you fidget with your spinner while you're waiting to catch someone speeding? :teeth
