You: red Africa Twin
Me: black BMW

Hey Africa Twin rider, I just wanted to say thanks for being generally awesome. We were splitting along 4 westbound, around Bay Point, and you were behind me (I had another rider in front of me). When we came across what looked like a fender bender and the drivers were getting out of their cars in lane 2, I signaled for you to slow down and you totally did.

I saw you pass later and I saw your speed was higher than mine, so I just wanted to say thanks and to acknowledge that it wasn't because I thought you were crowding me or anything, I wanted to be sure you knew that there were two people getting out of their cars in the middle of lane 2 during rush hour. Thanks again for being a good guy (or girl!) when sharing the road and not getting ragey about my signal that we were about to slow down. :ride

Nice! Our hwy4 commute is a mixed bag when it comes to bikes, some are really great and others I'm just waiting to see have something horrible happen to themselves. Not wishing, their riding just screams 'I'm going to get myself killed at some point.'

Sigh. Yeah, it's a relatively new commute for me and it's definitely a mixed bag. I try to remember that we all have good days and bad days and that I'm sure other riders' opinions of my riding skills vary greatly. So, I try to ride my own ride and hope no one judges me too harshly for the choices I make. :ride

EDIT: Also, Eric!! I just realized you're in Brentwood.... I have no doubt you've seen me toodling along. Next time, give me a big wave.

You bet! I'm on a red Multistrada with a box on the back. I rock a gray Aerostitch that is a couple sizes too big but I'll be sure to give you a wave and a smile. Bike is in the shop (again :mad) but shouldn't be too much longer. :thumbup

Yay for getting the bike back! I'm pretty sure I'm the only girl out our way with a BMW R1200R, but it's black with a white racing stripe down the tank and front fender and the brightest turn signal / brake lights ever.
