F**k yeah!...I did it...

...I pulled a wheelie. A real one. None of this piddly bounce the front wheel a few inches of the ground kinda stuff. And wow :thumbup:thumbup

You guys have been holding out on me - I had no idea how awesome it would feel. I am really glad I didn't learn about this years ago when I was young(er) and foolish...very addicting :twofinger

And here's the kicker - I wasn't trying to. Just pulled away from a stop sign with empty road straight ahead and wanting to catch up to others, so gave it a firm handful of throttle and the bike lite up nicely and then I say to myself calmly, "fuck, the front wheel is in the air" and it felt so smooth and under control and I did not panic but enjoyed it and just as smoothly the wheel came gently down as I continued hard on the throttle. Hot damn. Fuck yeah.

And the double-kicker...but don't tell anyone cause I don't want to get banned next year - but it happened at the IMS show during a demo ride :wtf :teeth...I know I know, immediate grounds for dismissal, they warned us...we'd have to walk back to the show...I kept looking over my shoulder for the sweep rider to pull me over, but he didn't see it :p...but it was so awesome it would have been worth it :laughing

Please don't let me buy a sport bike or sumo...and I may need some supervision when I get my next bike :teeth :p

Reminds me of the time I went to that triumph test ride thing.

When I was on a street triple R the guy in front of me dropped his giant cruiser and the sweep stopped to help him. I proceeded to loft the front end of that beautiful triple because I figured it was the last chance I'd have to do that for a long time. :p

Sort of like the first time you've had sex:

You're surprised that you're actually doing it
It feels good but is over before you realize it
Can't wait to do it again. :ride

Your DL1000 can't get the wheel up?
Nope - least I wasn't able to; I never thought I had a fueling problem and liked the gradual throttle of the vee, but in hind sight, wowza!

:thumbup

Keep your right foot on the rear brake pedal, things can go bad in a hurry.
Thanks. Yeah I remembered the foot ready on the rear brake afterwards....:rolleyes glad I didn't need it this time...hope I remember sooner next time:thumbup
