European fuel choices Diesel / gasolina / A

A is not a different octane of gasolina , as I looked at the pumps to fill up my car in Spain I saw pump marked A ( that must be a lower octane of gasolina ) it does not say diesel so it must be fine ( Wrong ! ) After fill up ,the car instantly coughed and died . Oops .
Fortunately with a little plastic hose , a bucket ,and some syphoning , purging the hi pressure line to fuel rail , we were back on the road in a hour 👍

That Looks About Right
:rofl
Ask me how I know how this feels... Only I did the reverse. Green was not diesel. Nothing like full sprints through the airport to make traveling more fun.

Ooops!

Thanks
Ah weird. I thought diesel was labeled B. Well glad the OP was able to get it sorted out with some ingenuity.
The pump was not well marked at the station I was at , yes they have different colored plastic on each pump this station had a pump marked diesel one marked 95 ( which is gasolina ) and one that just said A ( A is diesel with a additive package like techron ) diesel is more common here then gasolina , because fuel is very expensive . Today I got gas in Barcelona at a station hat had two different diesel pumps and two gasolina pumps one 95 and one 98 octane . I guess it depends where you are. I was really scared I would need to have my car towed after filling it up with diesel ,the dude at the station told me to buy a hose from the 99 cent store next door and the handed me a bucket , I said where do I dump the Diesel and he said the sewer next to my car by the pump , after draining tank it would not start ,to much diesel in the lines , finding the fuel line and purging it was really easy on this Opel 3 cyl engine , after cranking it several times it started right up , I think if you put gasolina in a diesel , you would not find out until your down the road a while The gasolina floats on top ,in my case the diesel being heavier then gasolina it went straight to the bottom . I did not even get it into gear before it died . Being in auto repair business for many years helped :thumbup
