The 2nd biggest tournament of the year is underway :x

We're already into day 5. I'd have to say there haven't really been any surprising results yet, except perhaps Ireland pulling out a draw yesterday against the fighting Zlatans, oh and probably Italy beating up Belgium.

Payet and Modric have the goals of the tournament so far.

Apparently Russia has been given a "suspended disqualification" because of the shit that went on against England. From what I can tell, they basically got told "ONE MORE TIME AND YOU'RE OUT" which seems dumb, since that would affect the other teams in their group as well.

Anyway, I hope Portugal loses.

Intriguing goalie matchup of Buffon and Courtois that never really materialized. Italy dominated that game. And Fellaini's dye job is just awful.

Also heard that England fans started a bunch of shit v Russia fans prior to and during the game, and that this whole Russia super-trained hooligan force is just anti-Russia rhetoric. Basically, the English got out-hooliganed. but I don't know if I've heard the whole story as of yet.

Thanks for starting the thread! I haven't been as into it this year (I think since my adopted team, the Dutch, somehow failed to qualify), but will start watching.
