eRoadRace Series at Indy...

I know the big Indy round thread is coming, but I read that as part of the festivities they are going to have a race with ERacers! From MotoMatters:

"In addition, electric-powered race motorcycles capable of reaching speeds of 170 mph will compete for the first time at IMS in a round of the FIM eRoadRacing series featuring teams from across America."

I have never seen these guys go, but I am curious. I hope that somehow they find a way to get them some TV time! And then on the other extreme, the Vance and Hines Harleys will race as well. These guys are fun to watch also. It will be a full weekend at IMS.

Is this the same electric bike series that races at Laguna during the GP every year?

Very bummed to report NO TV for the Vance & Hines XR1200 series this year. The Indy XR1200 races have always been fantastic with the larger purse attracting a big field. At least three NorCal riders in the XR series: Tyler O'Hara (multi-time winner) from Petaluma. Shelina Moreda also from Petaluma and Supermoto expert Gage McAllister from Lincoln.

It would appear that the EBikes are the same ones that were at Laguna. Perhaps since they are FIM sanctioned they might get a wee bit of covereage. Hope so. Total bummer on the XR1200s. These bikes are fun to watch race; It's pretty amazing to sewe them do what they do on those big bikes! Oh well, maybe some kind soul will stream them out.
