Enterprise rental?

So today had to drop off the Jeep at repair shop because we got sideswiped in a parking lot. Jerk didn't even leave a note,. Anyways. USAA gave us a rental with enterprise for a compact. I get to enterprise and the guy at the counter asks if I'm interested in a 2018 Camaro SS,. :nchantr. Yeaaaa probably not it's more than I want to spend,. Ok. No worries I upgraded you for free. So I get home and look at the actual price to rent this thing since USAA was paying for a compact at $30 something a day. Turns out this SS is $1500 a week:wtf. Not complaining just saying thanks for the hookup Enterprise! :thumbup.

Nice ride.

Is that really the price they rent it out for? Or is that more like the room rate published in the back of your hotel room? I'm thinking they always rent it for a lot less, but use that max rate to charge daily for cars not returned on time.

I've always had a decent time renting with Enterprise. My wife swears against them.

Only bad rental experience I've ever had was with an agency that closed their desk after my flight arrived. Could have warned me of that when I made the booking. Think that was Hertz or Budget. Oh well, they refunded me.

I had the opposite experience :laughing

Same, car is in the shop, insurance is providing a rental at Enterprise. They gave me a Hyundai Accent with stained seats. I complain, nothing on the lot right now, we will call you when something else comes in (never did). A day later they gave me a grubby Ford Taurus :laughing Nice score on the Camaro!

Also note, if it's the other person's fault in a crash, and their insurance is providing the rental car, they have to provide a comparable vehicle to your vehicle, which is out of service. They will try to get you to take the cheapest one. But if you drive an all wheel drive SUV and want something comparable as a replacement, they have to provide it. I've done this before.

A few years ago I was given a car parked in back that I swore must have been an employee's car. :wtf
Hyundai Tiburon V6 with an aftermarket stereo. :wtf

Back when I had super status with National, I rented a Corolla class car and ended up driving around in a brand new Lincoln Navigator for two weeks. Cost me $150 :laughing

Many years ago when I had a job that included some travel, National Car Rental offered great cars in Los Angeles for the same price as a subcompact. I regularly got a Toyota Supra or one of those 2.3 liter 16-valve Mercedes 190 sedans. Way better than driving a Tercel for a week.

I've tried that every time, back when I owned a miata and idiots kept crashing into it. Every time (3 times) they absolutely refused to offer me anything other than a subcompact. I escalated to managers every time, but they said, "sorry cause your car is small you get a small car as a rental. Actually the rental is bigger than your car in the shop so it's an upgrade! :thumbup"

Yeah... no I'd like a rear wheel drive, convertible rental please. A comparable car to the one YOUR CLIENT is depriving me from for a week +. Nope, they never went for it. Different insurance companies, also.

meh, enterprise on Steven's Creek steals credit card info and goes on joyrides (I should say used to, this hasn't happened in a while but then again... I haven't used them either.)

has happened more than once. Every time we take in a car for service and they don't have a loaner car available... we get sent to enterprise. I have to provide credit card for coverage and 3 weeks later... someone makes a multi 100 charge at enterprise using my card

I only use a low/no use card with them... I'm just prepared to close it and move on

My last experience was similar. I got a freaking Hemi Charger! That’s a car you don’t want to drive angry :laughing
