Just want to share my recent experience with taking the valve adjustment class at Moto Shop with Shawn as the teacher.
Take this class if you want to learn more about your bike and gaining hands on experience. The max 3:1 student to teacher ratio guarantees you will definitely have 1:1 attention. There's even a white board for diagrams and discussions if needed. For the price you pay someone else to work on your bike, the experience you gain at the shop is priceless.
Do Note: this class is definitely not for the novice, but if you know how to change oil, chain, and is somewhat mechanically inclined, you won't regret taking the class.
If Shawn happens to be your teacher (I can't speak for other teachers), you can definitely pick his brain and learn a lot from him. His willingness to share his knowledge and experience is invaluable. He definitely wasn't afraid to use the white board to illustrate his point. I just wish I had more in depth understanding of my bike so I could ask him even more questions.
Shawn, the bike runs so much better now, thanks for your help and patience ! :thumbup
