I wish trust wasn't an issue, but it is.

I'm rebuilding the charging system of my S'hawk and want some reassurance as to the quality of the vendor for parts. Any complaints about any of the three I've found, or do you have a recommendation for a source for a non-OEM R/R and stator? (The factory stuff is less than trustworthy)

Electrosport Industries.
Rick's Motorcycle Electrics.
Motovoltage.

Please show me the light.

I've used the Electrosport R/R and stator for my '01 GSXR600 and they appear to be of a decent quality. I did have an issue with the plug harness on the stator wherein the terminals were loosely fitted into the plastic plug and resulted in a fried connection. It was an easy fix... cut and resolder. Aside from this, I've had no other problems since installing them 2 seasons ago. Keep in mind my bike is track only and does not have all the misc electronic components of a typical street bike.

If the VRR from another bike, regardless of brand or model, has the capacity (can handle the output of the alternator) and has been proven to be reliable and trustworthy, I second the idea. I had an '82 Suzuki once that I ended up putting an aftermarket stator on, but also used a VRR from a Honda. Never failed me again.

the electrosport I got charged my battery at 19v on my SH and wrecked it. The rick's one worked fine.

the first electrosport r/r i got was nfg in 1 month. the 2nd one has been on for 2 years. the stator lasted 2 years, but it doesn't put out the watts below 5k rpm's the stock one had, so I had to put in a switch to cut off one headlight when riding in the city.....
